Christians in China
In parts of China, Christians are strongly persecuted for their faith. China is a country under Communist rule. It claims that there is religious freedom in China,
but many Christians are persecuted, imprisoned, tortured or executed because of being a Christian.
There have been many accounts where Christians have claimed abuse for their faith, contrary to what the government says.
One Christian in prison said, ‘A believer was praying, so a jailer made other prisoners lift him up to the ceiling and
drop him to the ground many times until he died’. Regardless of how little the media mentions persecution of Christians in China,
and no matter what the government says about ‘religious freedom’,
Christians in some areas of China are being strongly persecuted for what they believe.
Registered house churches are controlled by the government, so many believers meet illegally in underground house churches.
If they are found, they may be imprisoned, beaten or tortured.

Please pray for...
o ... strength for those being persecuted, that God will comfort them and that they will not denounce their faith.
o ... those who have lost loved ones through persecution, that God would comfort and encourage them.
o ... those in prison, that they would know God’s presence with them.
o ...those meeting in illegal house churches, that God would keep them safe, or if found, that they would stand firm, and gladly bear the name of Jesus. |
